Dr. Donald Kaberuka

Dr. Donald Kaberuka is a distinguished economist and global development leader with decades of experience shaping Africa’s economic and financing landscape. He previously served as President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), where he championed private sector growth, regional integration and major infrastructure investments across 54 member countries. He also served as Rwanda’s Minister of Finance, a role that established him as a "go-to" advisor for Heads of State and he most recently served as Chair of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. As Founder and Champion of AHFIA, he provides strategic stewardship and high-level political engagement, leveraging longstanding relationships with Heads of State, Ministers of Finance, and development partners across the continent. Dr. Kaberuka holds a BA from the University of Dar es Salaam, an MPhil from the University of East Anglia and a PhD in Economics from the University of Glasgow.
