Dr. Corine Karema

Dr. Corine Karema is a medical doctor and senior public health specialist for AHFIA with over two decades of experience in health governance and epidemiology. She has held major continental leadership roles, including Interim CEO of the RBM Partnership to End Malaria and Senior Malaria Program Officer at the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA).
In Rwanda, she led the National Malaria Control Program at the Ministry of Health for ten years, overseeing significant reductions in disease burden. At AHFIA, Dr. Karema links health financing reform with disease control priorities, ensuring advocacy is grounded in epidemiological evidence and program reality to achieve equitable health outcomes.
She holds a Master of Science in Epidemiology and a postgraduate diploma in Malariology.
