Aaron Thegeya

Aaron is a PhD economist and Technical Advisor for AHFIA with over 15 years of experience in econometrics and financial modeling. His distinguished career includes serving as a Senior Economic Advisor in the Executive Office of the President of Kenya and five years with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, DC, where he focused on emerging economies during the global financial crisis.
He has also focused on development policy analysis at the World Bank and worked in investment banking at Lehman Brothers. At AHFIA Aaron provides critical analysis on macro-economics and public debt, helping countries navigate the complex fiscal space required for sustainable health investments.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics, which he obtained from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. He also spent one year as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Said Business School, University of Oxford. In addition, he has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.
