Dr. Charles Mironko

Dr. Charles Mironko serves as the Technical Advisor and ALM Liaison for AHFIA, bringing a unique academic and humanitarian perspective to the team. He currently acts as the Senior Coordination and Liaison Officer to the AU High Representative for the Leader in Health Financing (ALM) and the AU Special Envoy for COVID-19.
His career includes serving as the Chief of the Culture Section at the Organization of African Unity and a Humanitarian Officer in Darfur. As a widely published scholar, Charles has held research fellowships at Harvard University’s Hutchins Center and served as the Associate Director of the Genocide Studies Program at Yale.
Within the AHFIA, he facilitates critical coordination between continental platforms and high-level health financing initiatives to ensure structural alignment across Africa. Charles holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Université de Montréal and a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from Yale University.
